GMES Gala Weekend – pictures. Thanks to Phil and Jakub for taking them.

Despite some very heavy showers the event was well attended, and the trains kept on running despite the downpours. PMMC were awarded the Brian Barrow Cup for our outstanding support of the GMES Gala Weekend event; now our 14th year. The trophy was presented to Richard C. by the Mayor of Guilford Sallie Barker MBE. There was also an award to Peter S. for his scratch built Swallow and Amazon sailing dinghies. See the pictures below.

PMMC – ‘open day’ 24th July. A chance to get together, sail, have a chat and swap ideas.

The weed cutting has finished, most of the weed has been removed. There is now a chance for members to enjoy a summer’s day together without too many weed related problems. Bring your boats along for a sail, have a chat, and enjoy swapping stories with fellow club members.
Please remember the lake is not weed free, so boats may still catch the odd piece of weed now and again. This is especially true for deep keel vessels.

Barge Match – 28th April 2024

Just a reminder to the Barge skippers that the first Barge Match of the year will be on Sunday 28th April 2024 at Silvermere, starting at about 11.00am after the course has been laid.
So check the rigging and see if you can find a keel that fits, as well as the correct transmitter etc. and come along to race – 30″, staysails and bowsprit barges will have their own competitions. And I will try to find a suitable trophy for each class.

Let us hope that the weather is fine for us and not too wet or windy. Richard.
