Month: July 2025

Barge match cancelled this coming Sunday 20th July.
This is to confirm that the weed in the lake is too extensive and dense for our proposed barge match this Sunday. Smooth keel boats are OK, as are electric/steam in the area recently cleared. So the chance to enjoy a sail on the lake and have a chat with fellow members. Discuss set ups on your models, and any model boat problems you would like help with.

All the best.
David

Our monthly club meeting. Come along and have a chat with fellow club members. Share updates on your latest projects, and activities. From 7.30pm onwards. Weather and weed permitting we will enjoy and evening sailing on the lake.
Latest on the weed situation.
Thanks to regular clearing there is a small area along the foreshore and about 8 metres out that is almost weed free, so ideal for scale electric/steam.
Smooth keeled yachts should also be OK using the rest of the lake. Unfortunately anything with a drop keel will catch the weed and it would not be advisable to sail this type of yacht.

There is a special scale sail day this Sunday 13th July 2025 from 10.00am; weed and weather permitting. This day is for Moonbeam, J Class Schooners and other types  of scale sailing yachts. Come along and see these fantastic boats on the water.
