Good News. The weed has gone and the water level is now deep enough for IOM yachts.
The Ron Young trophy this year has been won by Michael Darbyshire with his excellent Waveney Class Lifeboat. See pictures below.
Also taking part were Peter Shires Starlet along with a small part finished planked dinghy along with Stephen Griffiths chain ferry.
And last of the five was our Chairman’s slightly dodgy (according to our anonymous Judge) new Sailing Cutter.
The November club night will be held at:
Byfleet Boat Club,
4 Old Parvis Road
KT14 6lE
This will be the Ron Young Trophy meeting for new, refurbished and found models along with the RNLI Christmas Sales table. Teas/coffees and cakes courtesy of Carol.
There is good parking in Old Parvis Road and entrance to the Boat Club is down the slope to the tow path – take care if it’s raining or icy as the slope is a bit steep, you may find a torch helpful as the road is a bit dark in places. We gather about 7.30pm for tea, coffee and cake – thanks Carol. The evening’s attraction are: a) Ron Young trophy – bring your new models for inspection and entry to this club competition; b) the RNLI ladies will have their sales stall for those essential Christmas items, e.g. cards, calendars and presents; c) a Bring and Buy table for all those quality items you want a new home for.
