Due to safety concerns for members created by rotting timbers, a new deck has been laid on the lower part of the jetty in readiness for open day. Thanks to the team of Alex, David, Martin, Richard for the work done and time spent getting the materials and bringing the equipment to get the job done.
It was evident that the spongy artificial grass covering was hiding some seriously rotted timbers underneath. Having removed the covering the timbers were showing signs of their age and condition, some more than others. As a result the whole of the lower section has been re-boarded and recovered with the original grass that was in surprisingly good condition.
The pressure treated timber should last another 5 years use before needing to be replaced.
Many thanks to Alex, David, Martin, Richard for taking the time to do the work. Also for organising the materials and bringing the tools and equipment need to install the new decking.
A total of 8 Race days were completed, with 2 discards means the best 6 Race day scores will count. Not all competed on all race days so their scores will only show the total of race days attended.Congratulations to Laurence N on winning the Series closely followed by Michael D.
We will be weed clearing to try and keep the weed under control for PMMC regular sailing days, and our up and coming ‘Open Day’ in August. Any members that want to help bag up or haul in the weed frame are welcome.
